Shakespeare wrote over thirty plays, many of them among the world's best comedies, tragedies, histories, and tragicmedies. He wrote over 150 sonnets, many of which are considered the best in the English language. He was a partner in one of the most successful acting companies of his time and owned a share in two of the most successful playhouses of his day. He bought the second largest house in his hometown, and a suite of apartments (a condo) in the building housing one of those playhouses. He died rich and famous, and a true artist. That is a hard hat trick to pull off.

How is Romeo and Juliet's meeting memorable to the audience?

Of course, a scene is more or less memorable depending on how it is staged and performed. Even the best play can be forgettable in the hands of hacks. Shakespeare does his best to make this moment memorable, however, by heightening the language through the roof. When Shakespeare wanted to raise the emotional stakes in a scene he would put the dialogue in blank verse. If he wanted to raise it higher, he put the blank verse into rhyming couplets. At the moment Romeo and Juliet meet, they go beyond this--their conversation is actually a sonnet.
