There is frequently no specific reason why a particular date is assigned as a saint's feast day. Sometimes it commemorates the date a person dies. This is not the case as Albert died on December 25th. Remember, there are tens of thousands of saints and only 365 days in a year. Saints have to share and on any given day there may be dozens and dozens of saints commemorated.
