∙ 12y agoThey are honored because they DIED fighting for their country, specifically fighting for us citizens, while we carried on with our wonderdul lives. Many of us don't know what its like to suffer through a war; some do, and their are lots of soldiers who come back traumatized, mentally ill, or missing limbs. They are honored because their lives were risked to protect the country.
