Ac drain hole is plugged, go under neath by oil filter and unclog small rubber opening! This should fix it..
Heater core has failed.
Leaking from the water pump at the back on the passenger side.
The pipe that runs under the back rear of the passenger side of a 196 Pontiac Grand Am is the water pump. If there is leaking under the passenger side, the first thing to check is the water pump.
The heater coil is leaking. Water from the cooling system runs through the heater coil to heat the passenger compartment. Antifreeze is corrosive, some heater coils are thin.
If it runs continually, as you say, then it can only be the inlet water pipe or fitting, leaking.
it is more than likely that it is sweating which is not the same thing as leaking... when it is humid or just warm it can cause you air conditioning to sweat. it is nothing serious A:As it happens, I have a 99 Escort with the same problem, that being when the AC is running, water begins to drip from beneath the dash onto the floor mat on the passenger side. I can hear an audible "slosh" from trapped water in there. From what I've found online, and I'm going to try when I can get under the car, there's a condensation drain hose/tube that runs from the firewall on the passenger side that often clogs, keeping the condensation inside the passenger compartment. You have to get up in there with a stiff wire (1' long or so) and knock that clog out. Watch out, it might be messy. You might notice that because of this clog, you don't have that water puddle under the car most people have from running the A/C.
Look on the wall under the car from underneath the passenger side about center of seat position. If it is clogged then water runs inside on the floor. Mary
My 95 blazer has a leak that normally shows up after a heavy rain. It is caused by water running down the windshield into the air duct outside the vehicle. The water runs down the passenger side of the duct where the fresh air vent is located. If the fresh air vent is stuck open and a heavy rain comes, I'm given a puddle of water in the passenger side floor mat.
it is possibly a heater hose
from my own experience I found that water was getting into the van from the top of windscreen rubber either on passenger or drivers side...it runs across top of windscreen metalwork behind interior roof trim!....and then trickles onto floor behind side interior trim..also on the van the roof gutters collect water and rust breaks out where black infill trim meets top of windscreen...silly design!!..I have removed roof black trim and cleaned up channel and used good quality black sealant around top[of windscreen..
If your vehicle has a sunroof, the drain tube may have popped out of it's outlet. This tube runs down inside the roof support on the passenger side of the windshield, running down just in front of the passenger door behind some plastic. I have a 2003 XRS. It had a really musty smell that we traced to the front passenger side carpet. When I pulled the carpet back, it was dripping wet. The air conditioner drain hose had pulled away from the firewall and was draining into the floor pan. I replaced the tube into the hole and have not had any trouble since.
It could be a bad water pump if it's leaking out the weep hole at the bottom of the water pump.
