World War II is not called the Holocaust. World War II was between the Allies (US, Great Britain, etc.) and the Axis (Germany, Italy, Japan) due to the Nazi invasion of Poland. The Holocaust was the systematic slaughter of 6 million Jews.

The two go hand-in-hand but WWII and the Holocaust were technically different.
