because that's how much coffee comes out

The cost of a cup of coffee (6 oz) is determined by the cost of the coffee and the strength you prefer. I use one quarter cup Folger's Classic Roast per 10 cup brewer. The coffee is $0.30/oz and the cost is $0.03/cup.
That depends ENTIRELY on how big the coffee pot is.
K cup averages about 6 times (varies from 2 to 10 times) more expensive than drip brewed coffee. The medium size cup of Kerug coffee is one cup (8 oz). One cup of k-cup coffee costs about 35 to 70 cents. One cup of drip coffee costs about 7 to 20 cents. Lowest cost drip coffee - My Braun drip coffee maker makes a cup for about 7 cents. That is a 24 oz pot of coffee (4 * 6 oz) using 22g of coffee grounds per pot. My coffee grounds costs $4 per pound (454g) and tastes great. You need to shop around to get good low cost coffee grounds.
a cup. now you can ask 'how big is a cup'? Today a measuring cup is 8oz...unless you look at your coffee maker...then a cup is 6 oz. And if you take a coffee cup from your cupboard it is likely 10 ounces, while a tea cup is more likely in the 6 oz range. Pannikin is not and was not ever a standard unit if measure. I would take a conservative guess at 4 ounces and adjust the quanity if needed.
cause the man that made them only had 6 oz then he rode on a cat then stuffed in a blender and slaped a dog
6 oz is 3/4 cup. There are 8 oz in one cup.
3/4 There are 8 ounces in a cup.
It depends on how much you consume and how frequently you shop. Typically, one level tablespoon is used to brew one 6 oz. cup of coffee.
House Blend approximately 65 mg French Roast approximately 65 mg Flavored approximately 25-30 mg Decaf House Blend 2-5 mg Caffeine content based on typical range of coffee powder used in 6 oz cup.
0.75 cup
A "cup" of coffee is not a precise measurement, and coffee is made to a variety of strengths. For 55 cups I would use about 330 grams (11 to 12 ounces). Coffee served at picnics, church, etc., is usually a bit weaker. East coast and plains states people usually have their coffee weaker than this, while people who spend time in France or Italy or Turkey may enjoy their coffee at twice this strength.
