The dog might not be receiving enough food for its weight/size and is still hungry. If a second feeding or larger portion still does not satisfy the dog, it should be checked and possibly treated for a worm infestation.

It wouldn't have the same effect. By comparing the sea to a hungry dog, Reeves employed a sense of fear and desperation in the reader. The 'hungry dog' metaphor also allows the reader to compare the waves of the sea to 'eating' the coast. Techniquically, the subject matter of the poem is a storm at sea, therefore wouldn't fit the metaphor of a well-fed dog.
The sentence "The sea is a hungry dog" is an example of metaphor. The sea is not actually a dog, but the writer is indicating that the sea shares some similarities with the behavior or mannerisms of a hungry dog.
He was hungry
Maybe the kitty isnt fed.
If the chicks are not hungry (meaning someone already fed them), you can still just click on them and it will groom them.
