Why is it false that sexual reproduction is the only mechanism for genetic change?

I believe that mutations are considered to play a part, whether genetically mutated or selected by the changes in an environment. Eg. In a wet environment type A will survive and dominate the population thereby producing more type mutations As in the nxt generation. However, should a drought hit and type B carries the genes tht enable it to survive droughts better, then the 3rd generation will mostly contain type B mutants.

A change in structure or behavior that helps a living thing survive in its environment?

An adaption.

How might global warming the evolution of living things?

Those organisms that had variations which caused to survive and be reproductively successful in the changing environment world fulfill the definition of evolution. The change in allele frequency over time in a population of organisms. Perhaps new species would arise from this change and perhaps not. Time and environment would tell.

How does natural selection operate to cause a change in population?

One principle: Survival of the Fittest. Climates, weather, and conditions changes. And there are creatures who can survive in a certain condition, and others who can't. Those who cannot survive will die, and those who could survive will live. If the condition maintains, the surviving group will increase. But if the condition changes, the test for the survival of the fittest will happen again, and this time, the opposite result will occur. Hope this helps.

Why is variation beneficial to a population that is undergoing change?

Yes, it is. If there is variation in a populations, and a sudden catastrophic event occurs, there is more of a chance that some of the individuals in the population will survive, and the population will not die out.

Microevolution can occur when some individuals in a population survive and reproduce more often in a new environment?

Yes, microevolution can occur when some individuals in a population survive and reproduce more in a new environment. Natural selection can, over time, change the characteristics of entire populations.

How do wild beasts find their adaptation to help them survive?

It is called natural selection. The individuals with the best properties needed for survival in an environment are the most likely to survive, and to pass on their genes. In this way the offspring will have properties that are useful in an environment. In theory the population will start to move more and more towards having useful properties for their specific environment and circumstances. If the environment changes, the individuals that are most likely to survive will also change, and probably different properties will be favored this time.

How does environmental change lead to adaptation?

Within a population of animals there are variations and differences. So when an environmental change occurs those animals that are better suited to that environment survive and are able to reproduce sucessfully. Those animals that cannot survive as well under the new conditions tend to reproduce less and die out, leaving just the offspring of those who could tolerate and thrive in the new environment. Thus passing on this ability to survive to their offspring leaving a population well suited to the new environment.
