There is no difference between bears and pandas, since pandas are bears. But their are differences between the different types of bears. (Sun bear, Asian black bear, black bear, brown bear, polar bear.) It just depends on the area you are in (different climates, geography, food/hunting, etc.) that you find the different types of bears.

Panda bears in specific are native to China. They belong to the order Carnivora, but 99% of their diet consists of bamboo.

I assume by your wording of "normal bears" that you mean American bears. My first thought of the differences between Pandas and our American bears is that apparently the Chinese Giant Panda bear eats only plants--bamboo, being herbivorous. I have never heard of them eating anything else! And everyone knows that all the American bears eat a combination of meats, fish, fruits, berries, etc., being thereby omnivorous. I hope that someone who is more of an expert on the animals will provide a better answer for you! That's all I could think of. Pandas are not bears. The term "panda bear" is a misnomer; the correct name is just "panda". They are actually most closely related to raccoons!

panda bears eat mainly plants like bamboo for instance. they are herbivores and now endangered due to the cutting down of their food and home. pandas must eat lots of bamboo to have enough nutrients to live each and every day.
