I guess this depends on who you ask but I wonder what the employees of Enron, AIG, GM, Chrysler, Ford and many others would say. Of course high ethical standards are important as well as high moral standards. You can get away with anything for a while but rest assured it will catch up to you.

1. You should at all times keep the composure of true ethics, such as no sexual harrassment or dating a coworker.

2. No stealing Anything from the company not even a pen.

3. Delegating responsibilitites in a respectful manner as to show common deceny to your workers.

4. Not loosing your cool over simple things as to show you have a reign over your emotions.

These simple standards show your coworkers that you are a leader and not a basket case.
