Simply because it is a highly unstable and explosive compound. Using it in airbags (or anything else, really) would be completely idiotic because it could go off at any time even during controlled circumstances in a lab or during assembly of the airbags. So not only would it be very likely to kill someone, it would also render the airbags made with it completely useless. Don't play with high explosives!
