because there's this thing called an equator line and it passes through the middle of our world horizontally and in around that line it is very very hot well since Antarctica is not even close to that middle line that passes through our earth it gets very very cold. So, since Antarctica is not even close to that middle line it gets very cold. its just how it is and plus that line also indicates were the sun passes over.
