It isn't. It offers a less open OS and the same specs as the competition for a higher price.
Sony has the same specs are Apple at a lower price. Apple just has a different OS. In my opinion, Windows is better than Apple's OS, so I prefer Sony. If you can't live without OSX, you can get a Mac. Otherwise, go for Sony.
If you mean what OS it is OSx Mountain Lion. OSx is a Unix bases graphical interface.
OSx is about as friendly as it gets.
iMac running OSx Lion.

It is all a matter of opinion, but Dell computers are significantly less expensive than Apple computers. I suggest going to your local BestBuy and checking them out for yourself. The above answer is correct, it is a matter of opinion. I have owned them both and now own nothing but Apple. Dell makes cheap computers and they also make excellent computers that are just as expensive as an Apple. But either way you will get the Windows OS and that is the problem. Apple computers run on the OSx operating system. Apple makes excellent computers built with quality parts and there are no cheap Apple computers. Apple also makes all the software that comes on that Apple computer unlike Windows which makes very little software. Apple software works flawlessly with OSx. Apple computer also do not need security software no matter what Windows users tell you. Been using my iMac for 5 years with not one infection. There has never been a real world virus to infect OSx. OSx also does not have a registry which is a big plus. Apple computers are IMO, easier to use than a Windows PC.
There is no Apple menu. The home screen has a link to Settings, where you can change all the things the OSX Apple menu does.
Apple's Macintosh computers use Apple's operating system known as OSX. The current version is OSX 10.8.#. Macintosh computers can also run the Windows and Linux operating systems, but those systems are not included in the purchase of the computer.
Yes, Google Chrome works with Apple OS also. It works with OSX 10.7.3 and is fully functional.
Linux is an open source operating system used on computers that would generally run Windows OS. There are many versions of Linux being developed by various interest groups. OSX is a proprietary system owned by Apple that generally runs on Apple computers. There is only one 'current' OSX released by Apple at any one time. OSX is not used on iPhones, iPods, or iPads. Both systems are related to Unix.
According to the Apple website, Mac OSX Mountain Lion can be purchased for $19.99 if you are already running Lion or Snow Leopard. You can purchase directly through the Mac Apple Store icon on your computer.
I believe, being a user of both operating systems, that they each have their applications.Speaking basically, if you play more video games a PC will almost always be a better choice. In my opinion a PC is also a better choice for playing a variety of video formats.Otherwise, I use my Mac (Apple) for everything else. Being that the operating system (OSX) is very stable and reliable, and you can find open source or OSX alternatives for almost everything.
