Hemophilia is the most well-known hereditary bleeding disorder. There are other hereditary bleeding disorders including von Willebrand's disease, Christmas disease, thrombocytopenia and others.
Thrombocytopenia. Symptoms of thin blood include spontaneous nosebleeds, prolonged bleeding from cuts, body rashes and easy bruising.
Irregular and prolonged bleeding is a possible side effect of depo provera, as noted in the patient information insert. This bleeding improves with time.
In the viper bite clotting occurs rapidly. The clots can cause strokes and emboli in the lungs and legs. The others cause more rapid bleeding with bruising from a small bump to the skin and many nose bleeds. They lack an anticoagulation factor.
Persons with this condition easily bruise and can have episodes of excess bleeding (a hemorrhage).
The scientific term for prolonged bleeding is "hemorrhage." It refers to excessive or prolonged bleeding from a blood vessel or organ. Hemorrhage can have various causes, including trauma, clotting disorders, or underlying medical conditions.
A longer-than-normal bleeding time can indicate that one of several defects in hemostasis is present, including severe thrombocytopenia, platelet dysfunction, vascular defects, Von Willebrand's disease, or other abnormalities.
A severe deficiency in vitamin B12 (folic acid) can lower the platelet count in the blood, causing slower clotting and possible internal bleeding.
Complications of thrombocytosis include stroke, heart attack, and formation of blood clots in the arms and legs. A doctor should be notified whenever bleeding is unexplained or prolonged or the patient develops.
deficiency of platelets in the blood. This causes bleeding into the tissues, bruising, and slow blood clotting after injury.
You take her back to the doctor who diagnosed the thrombocytopenia and get treatment for her. Thrombocytopenia is low platelet count. In extreme cases she might need a transfusion of platelets. She might also need medication such as prednisone. The condition will not go away on its own, and she is at risk of bleeding internally. Platelets are the component of blood that is repsponsible for clotting.
Gastrointestinal bleeding, haematuria, ecchymoses & subcutaneous heamatomas, epistaxis and prolonged bleeding from minor trauma.
