Bluetooth is named after a Danish Viking and King, Harald Blåtand (translated as Bluetooth in English), who lived in the latter part of the 10th century. Harald Blåtand united and controlled Denmark and Norway. The name was applied to Bluetooth the wireless hook-up for electronic devices as it unites different equipment. The Bluetooth symbol looks like a rune to commemorate the Viking heritage and the stones Harald Blåtand had erected to record his rule.

It is because, according to legend, King Harald loved to eat blueberries that stained his teeth... and so he was brought with byname "bluetooth".

Moreover, Jim Kardach (who developed the idea of intercommunicating mobile phones with personal computers) was currently fond of reading history legend novels about Denmark, Norway, and King Harald who was noted by Danish legend as the king who united the dissonant Danish tribes.

Simply connect the dots... Bluetooth was born.

(I hope it helps. Thanks!)

The word Bluetooth is an anglicized version of Old Norse Blátönn or Danish Blåtand, the name of the tenth-century king Harald I of Denmark.
