Probably a transient spike on the diagnostic data bus, the diagnostics could have spotted something early. Or could be something as simple as a battery change or a jump start that's upset it, or maybe it needs an oil change. Get you dealership to take a read-out and do a reset I had recently put a locking gas cap on and got the check engine light. Went to the dealer and found that their was not a good seal on the gas cap. Replaced with original gas cap and engine light went out. Threre are pages and pages of things that can turn on the check engine light. You need to have it checked for codes and then the code can cleared with a scanner after repair.
