It is beyond argument in the United States, it is a standard operating practice akin to the institution of trial by jury, the 50 star flag, etc. it is firmly established in public practice. Not so with the (churchigans)- a word I made up from Church and Shenanigans- as if they don't have enough hot water from the child abuse scandal which is a tidal wave! One will reluctantly concede the gender-discrete process MAY have some advantages in religious classes- popularily called Sunday Schools- but these are temporary- taking up only a few class-hours a week.- not basic stuff. Of course the genders should be insulated for such things as Gym and swim- and facilities ( separate changing rooms, etc) are already in place. There is no evidence of a panic-button ( Sex Riot) as a by-product of Co-education by itself. 97% of schools are co-ed, so don"t blame the system.

Coeducation promotes gender equality by providing both men and women with equal access to educational opportunities, enabling them to interact and learn from each other's perspectives. It helps break down gender stereotypes and fosters mutual respect between genders, preparing students for the diverse and inclusive society they will encounter in the future. Additionally, coeducation can promote healthy competition, enhance social skills, and prepare students for the collaborative work environments they will face in their careers.

It is best to approach this question on a case to case basis. A conservative member of the Islamic faith will most likely oppose coeducation while others might not.
