The Automotive Water Pump In general the main purpose of the automotive water pump is to circulate the coolant of the cooling system of a water-cooled engine.
If the question is about the motor fan or engine fan, the main function of this fan is cooling the radiator of the engine which in turn is cooling the water circulating inside the engine unto the radiator and back. This keeps the engine at a fairly operable temperature without overheating and damaging damaging its parts.
Yes the blower is cooling the engine, the main target is to release the pressure of the engine.
Yes and no. Yes, there are two 'thermostats' on the vehicle, but only one is the main thermostat that controls the engine coolant temperature. This main thermostat is located at the front of the engine block and is built in to a water inlet housing that connects to the lower radiator hose. If you're doing preventative maintenance on the cooling system, THIS is the thermostat you'll want to replace. The other part that looks very much like a thermostat and is often confused with the main thermostat, is actually called a "water control valve". This water control valve is located at the rear of the engine block. This part doesn't really control the engine coolant temperature, and does not require periodic replacement like the main thermostat.
Two physical changes occur: evaporation by heating and condenstion by cooling.
The use of two items are used. First is the Main cooling medium for the engine. Most cars use a Glycol/Water mixture via a pump to circulate it through out various ports inside the engine and then returns to a heat exchanger (Radiator). OR the use of air with an Air Cooled engine, this type of engine is know for having cooling fins cast into the engine's main block (e.g. a motorcycle, lawnmower or old Volkswagen. Second is the use of a lubricant (e.g. petroleum or Synthetic Oils) to cool bearings, pistons and all other internal rotating parts.
Neglect! Failure to change the coolant on a regular basis and failure to use Distilled water with the mix. using the wrong type of coolant there are different kinds make sure you get the right one for your engine
A propeller is completely external and is the main source of propulsion for a airplane with a piston or turbojet engine. A turbofan is more enclosed and provides some propulsion along with also cooling the jet engine that is the main source of propulsion.
