Because pH paper doesn't like to get dipped.
dip the ph paper (0-14) in to water than dip in to the toluene .observe the colour change of ph paper after dipping in to the water .if any change it shows ph weather it is acidic or alkaline.if it remains same as water ph shown on paper.it is neutral . my question is that weather i am doing right or wrong. give me suggestion.
Litmus paper is used for measuring the pH of a liquid. The pH is a measurment of how acidic/basic a liquid is. Red/Blue litmus paper contains a compound that changes colors at a certain pH. There are a variety of different litmus papers you can buy which each change colors at a specific pH. Generally, red is associated with an acidic solution (pH < 7) and blu with a basic solution (pH > 7). By dipping a litmus paper in a solution and watching for a color change, you can determine if the pH is below/above a certain threshold

A box of pH paper has printed the colors and the pH values.

pH papers are used to find pH of solutions, not litmus paper.
The pH paper value indicates the pH level of a substance. pH paper changes color when it comes in contact with a solution, allowing you to determine its acidity or alkalinity based on the color chart provided with the pH paper.
The PH paper soaks up the solution & tests the liquid, the pH paper will then change colour to show what the solution contains. Although if the paper stays the same colour it means the solution is nutral & safe.
Universal pH paper is a type of indicator paper that changes color based on the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It covers a wide pH range and can be used to quickly determine the approximate pH of a liquid.
when i tried dipping my pH paper into vanilla it didn't work!!! It stayed the same colour! SO... maybe i am guessing it is like 3 cause that is the colour of my paper or it just didn't work!! sorry, i looked up this question and it wasn't answered so here i am typing in an answer which i am guessing.
