The creators of GMOs claim that genetic modification of foods is needed to feed the world, not in and of itself, but in addition to non-GMO crops. Some believe genetic modification of crops that are resistant to herbicides has a profit motive, since the maker of the GMO and herbicide are usually the same company. Some might even say food us genetically modified simply because it can be done.
