Why ARE High Point pistols so cheap?
There's a niche in the pistol-buyers market for an inexpensive firearm. One that is not fancy, one that is not made of the strongest alloys known to man, one that doesn't have a complicated recoil system and one that shoot ~reliably.
High Point pistols fill this niche. Their pistols are not beautiful, in any sense of the word. They are often made from "pot metal" which is often a zinc alloy--an easily moldable, inexpensive alloy. Even the larger calibers use a Blow Back recoil system, that requires only a large spring balanced with a weighted slide. People who have shot these pistols say they are reliable.
They are made to sell at a very low price, THAT is their purpose, their raison d' etre.

As a consumer,we just need to focus on the price, quality and service. If the products that we like are cheap, high quality and nice service, who care why are they so cheap.
The melting point of uranium is 1 132,2 0C; not so high.
"High" is kind of subjective, but its melting point is 500oC, so I'd say that's pretty high.

Yes - pistols originated in the 16th Century - so they would have been around for the later stages of the Tudor period.
50-100 or so
There have been multiple versions of repeating pistols created by different persons over the years- so no ONE person can really be credited with this. They have included revolvers, pepperboxes, autoloading pistols, bar pistols, multiple barreled pistols, turret pistols, etc. While Samuel Colt is generally credited with the invention of the revolver, there were revolving and twist style pistols made long before his creation.

At STP, neon is a gas, so its melting point is low whereas silicon is a solid, so its melting point is high
