I own a 2002 Cavalier and I found that I could not access the window through the inner panel. Try removing the mirror and the black trim on the outside of the door. Roll the window all the way down, get the window started on track(a paint stir stick worked well for me) then roll the window up. It might take a few tries. Anyway it worked for me. Good luck.
