We don't have any badlands in the sense that there are badlands in the United States. We do have several areas of dry land, and rocky land formations, however. Probably the most similar would be the Drumheller, Alberta area.
Both South Dakota and North Dakota have regions which have irregular cliffs and colorful rocks. Both of these regions are called 'Badlands'. In South Dakota, the badlands are located in Badlands National Park in the southwestern part of South Dakota. In North Dakota, the badlands are part of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota.
