To demonstrate the phenomena of diffration in light, the wavelength must be smaller than wavelength of light, which is very difficult, because ligth has very short wavelength.

What is the diffraction of light waves?

Diffraction of light waves is caused by the density of the medium through which the light is passing. Diffraction results when light travels from rarer to denser medium.

Why is diffraction of sound waves more easily observed than diffraction of light waves?

sound waves travel fast than light waves

Why does diffraction of light support the idea that light is made of waves?

Diffraction is a typical phenomenon for all sorts of waves. So is interference - another clue that light is made of waves.

What is diffraction and how does it relate to the behavior of light as a wave?

Diffraction means bending. Okay. Bending of what? Bending of waves. Waves may be sound wave, or waves on the surface of water and even light wave. Bending at? Bending at the sharp edges of the obstacle on the way of movement of the wave. If suppose light is not a wave then diffraction phenomenon may not be possible. The very diffraction phenomenon establishes once again that light is a wave.

What property of light waves can be observed as light waves pass from one medium to another and change speed?

diffraction

Is there no difference between diffraction and interference?

INTERFERENCE IS THE MODIFICATION IN THE DISRIBUTION OF LIGHT DUE TO THE SUPERPOSITION OF TWO OR MORE LIGHT WAVES DIFFRACTION IS THE BENDING OF LIGHT WAVES ACROSS THE EDGES OF AN OBSTACLE AND THEIR ENCROACHMENT INTO THEIR GEOMETRICAL SHADOW

Does longitudinal wave exhibit diffraction?

Yes longitudinal waves can be diffracted. Example: Light waves.

What is the difference between diffraction and diffusion?

Diffraction is the spreading of waves that pass through a narrow opening or move past an obstacle ,whereas, interference is the phenomenon of redistribution of light in a medium as a result of light waves from two coherent sources.

What is the bending of waves around the edge of a barrier called?

Diffraction is the bending of waves around an obstacle under specific circumstances.

What is diffraction of waves?

The apparent of wave through, around small obstacles and the spreading out of wave past small openings. When thinking of diffraction of a wave think of shining a flashlight around a corner. The light bends around the corner but there is a place where it is dark and the light does not hit. Diffraction of a wave is basically the wave bending around an object then dispersing out.

How does light act like wave?

That means that light exhibits some of the phenomena that are typical for waves, such as diffraction and interference.

What are non examples of diffraction?

think of a wall in the water with a gap in the middle. waves come straight at the wall but as the waves go through the gap they bend. this is called diffraction.
