It is actually not important for Christians to have children. Although Christians may say the same thing as Jews, that children and family life are gifts from God, prompted by sex, the actual spirit of Christianity does not stress sex or having children. It stresses the ridding of oneself of all temporal, worldly pleasures in an effort to find happiness, holiness, and salvation. Some of these temporal pleasures are sex and a family life.
