The slogan Everything is bigger in Texas became popular soon after it was admitted as a state to the Union in 1845. It originated from the perception where, until Alaska's admittance in 1959, Texas was the largest state in the Union.

Comming from Texas myself this was easy for me to awnser, it's said "All things are bigger in Texas." because Texas is the second largest state. Also in movies back in the 1900's they used to do western movies based off of Texas and in the movie everything would look larger and the cowboys would seen superior to normal people. Plus, us Texans just like to think of ourselfs as awsome people! Everythings bigger in Texas ;)
