If you don't back up discs you are taking a massive risk in data protection. You could lose all your work and potentially your hard drive (if you don't back that up). This can be really bad. I know for a fact. I had a computer studies assignment that required me to use a disc for protection. It went corrupt. 10 minutes before the assignment was due. It was not pretty at all.

What is the difference between burning and mounting iso files?

An .iso file is a standard format to store the contents of an optical disk as one file on the computer. To Burn a disk is to open this file with a program such as Nero and copy it to the disk in such a way that the disk works like the original disk that the file was made from. To Mount the .iso as a file, it to use a program to make the file appear as a disk on your computer, so that you can read the contents. "Mount" is used in many computer systems to mean: "Connect to the disk so the disk so that I can use it".

Which is the best first step to protect important data on your hard drive?

Create a disk backup of your hard drive so that in case of a hard drive failure, you can restore your computer to the exact state prior to the failure. NovaBACKUP Professional will create system images, exact backups of a disk drive sector by sector, allowing you restore backups to a computer when the contents of the entire computer are lost.

How do you get all of the contents of your iPod onto a disc so you can re-upload it after it gets wiped?

Go onto itunes, then make a playlist with all the songs you want to back up. After that, press 'file' (upper left hand corner), then 'burn playlist to disk'. If it is too much for the disk, make it into two or more playlists and repeat.

What is simple disk striping not fault tolerant?

In fault tolerant disk arrays, such as RAID 5, a parity value is calculated for each bit of data at the same place on each disk in the array, and stored separately, so that the contents of any disk in the array can be calculated from the parity value and the contents of the other disks. This allows service to continue at reduced performance after the failure of any disk, and the failed disk can be replaced and the contents re-built without removing the array from service. Mirrored arrays, also known as RAID 1, simply maintain two copies, so that if one fails, the other can continue to serve. Simple disk striping doesn't attempt to store either a parity bit or a complete copy; it just spreads all data across all disks. This can significantly improve read performance, but if any drive fails, it is impossible to reconstruct the lost data, or continue service.

How do you install a usbwire for nokia 3100 without the disk?

For many devices, you can't install the usbwire without the disk. The reason that is so is because you have to buyit (I assume), and giving away the contents of a CD which you have to buy is like sharing illegal copy's of movies.
