Restructuring and Automating Customer Facing systems helps organizations to bring more business as the old systems might not be compatible with increasing customer flow and cannot reach to each individual customers. Companies need to adopt the new technologies to gain more market from the competitors. This will be possible with restructuring and automating the current processes. A back-end system helps to retrieve tons of data and store large volumes of data; this makes the organizations to work efficiently at ad-hoc periods.
Treating the internet as merely another channel-to market is liable to leave organizations exposed. Many of the early e-business sites fell down because organizations focused too heavily on the front-end web site, rather than ensuring that the back-end systems and processes were up to scratch.
In some cases, these were system failures: organization failed to take account of seasonal traffic flows across their Web sites and were simply unable to cope with high-volumes of data. In other instances, companies failed to integrate the front- and back office systems; as a result, they found themselves having to rekey data extracted from the web site into their traditional order-processing systems. Some companies simply failed to take account of the different business imperatives of the web environment. Several organizations, accustomed to selling in bulk, launched consumer sites, only to find that the logistics costs of shipping individual customer orders destroyed their margins.
