Imitating millions of mini sponges, the villi have a small opening which is used to "suck" up water and nutrients from the stuff being transported through the small intestines. The small intestines is the main organ that collects water for the rest of the body, and it's all thanks to the villi. Each villi in itself is not able to collect much water, but with milions all around the intestines, they are able to create a stronger current and collect more nourishment.
