Why is it that children don't like things like mushrooms when adults usually do?

Children usually get used to vegetables with strange tastes and textures like mushrooms. I used to loathe mushrooms and onions, yet I now love them! Give time to children to get used to veggies.
I love onions, but still I don't like mushrooms. It's the texture really. I hate eating soft and not mushy things like mushrooms.

So for these and other reasons, while it is mainly for children, adults can watch and enjoy Sesame Street.
