There are many reasons why questions remain unanswered in a Wiki.
Most people fail to place their question in a relevant category. You might come into the Wiki looking for answers to a math question but find you also want an answer to a pet problem. If you do not change the categories your pet question may sit in among the math questions for weeks.
Spelling also counts, if you want a serious answer to the question, try making sure you spell things right. "wat is duh bess pokiman gam u evr plaid" will take some time to answer, since someone must decipher it, correct it and then answer it.
Your question also must be noticed by someone who has an answer for it.
