Weed is illegal because the government of the US is greedy. Hemp makes great paper and wood, and would thus put paper and lumber companies out of business. Hemp also makes good shampoo and clothing, thus putting more companies out of business. It is all about money. The government of the US makes money by putting people in jail and taking their money for pot. In Canada personal use and possession IS legal, and in Mexico as well; however; in Mexico you will be taken to jail for possesssion of more than five grams of Marijuana.

In the US marijuana was made illegal due to paper manufacturing industries being put of of business by the hemp industry. CEO of Xerox filed a complaint on hemp being used as a drug. After the case was looked into, authorities decided to deem marijuana as a controlled illgeal substace, thus putting hemp out of business.

however, marijuana if not illegalised then would have been illegalised at some point in the US.

Earlier it was thought to be harmful to human beings to use Cannabis. It was made illegal after the Vatican requested the governments around the world to make it illegal.

There are certain dangers of Cannabis use, such as, you should not drive or operate machinery after using Cannabis. Same applies to after you take cough medicine or anything that causes drowsiness ;-) but cough medicine is not illegal.

Cannabis is a nervous depressant, that means it slows down the electric signals in your nerves. It can cause short time temporary memory loss, and hallucinations in very high doses. It has medicinal and recreational qualities and not addictive.

Cannabis's active ingredient THC is relatively very low in toxicity relative to common food ingredients. The L50 lethal dose to effective dose ratio is over 1000 times, that means THC would kill 50 of the test subjects when administrated over 1000 times the dose needed to get the desired effect. However, Cannabis can make the user tolerant to the effect making the effective dose higher each consecutive time they take it. It takes approximately 30 days for the body to fully flush off the THC in body fluids. But still THC can be detected from hair samples long after that 30 days window of time.

Any Food product can be lethal in high doses. Even clean drinking water in overdose can kill someone. With food products that can be used for recreational purposes are easier abused than used. Because of the recreational qualities, people take it more than the dose the body can handle. The most common foods abused are Sugar and Fat. People eat a lot of Sugar and Lipids and they get Obesity and Dietetics. With food products that can alter the state of mind some people can go really out of control and forget about the effective dose and seek something higher than what it is meant to be.

However, there are no recorded instances where anyone has ever died of "THC overdose", because it is not toxic. There is one single recorded instance of a death caused by cannabis use because that cannabis sample contained a lethal bacteria infestation.

If Cannabis is a drug/narcotic, then Tea, Coffee are also Drugs/Narcotics.

However, they say it is illegal only f you get caught. But always try to follow the rules of your country.

Cannabis is not illegal in some countries; like Amsterdam, it is a legal agricultural product.

marijuana is illeagal because the government has decided it is a depressant and a "dangerous narcotic." it is said to cause productivity to decrease in the workplace, car accidents(it causes you to drive slower than normal because you are super cautious), and brain damage. now compare all of this to alcohol, a completely legal substance. alcohol is much more damaging than weed and it is human altered. marijuana is literally picked, dried, and sold as is unless its laced. the process of making alcohol is as easy as making methamphetamines. if you can bake cookies, you can make meth. thats a scary thought, right? marijuana shouldnt be legalized for medicinal purposes, it should be legalized for recreational purposes. marijuana for medicine is like giving a patient alcohol to cure depression. it doesnt work like that. not to mention the fact that marijuana is not addictive. okay im done with my rant enjoy :)
