It has to do with popularity. American and English fictional works are more desired in Arab countries than Arab literature is desired in America or England. Additionally, there is a much smaller volume of Arab fiction published annually compared to the volume of English-language literature publish. Many works coming from Arab countries are written in English and French because the monetary rewards of writing in these languages are higher than those that come from writing in Arabic.
