Mount Rushmore is a natural granite batholith formation of rock in the Black Hills in Keystone, South Dakota, United States.
Between October 4, 1927, and October 31, 1941, Gutzon Borglum and 400 workers sculpted the colossal 60 foot (18 m) high carvings of U.S. presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln to represent the first 130 years of American history.

since it is not a natural wonder it is a false premise to begin with. however, on a funny note, on the comedy, "my fellow americans", the father was explaining 2 his son about the "natural wonder" of mt. rushmore & the presidents had to explain to them that it wasn't, & wayne said, "well, that takes all the fun out of it."

What rock is the monument to four American presidents in mount Rushmore in America made from?

Carving was done by using dynamite to blast away more than 90% of the rock. Once there was about 3 to 6 inches of rock left to remove, they used a technique called "honeycombing", drilling holes very close together, which weakened the granite so that it was easier to remove. After the honeycombing, the granite was smoothed with a hand facer or a bumper tool, creating a surface as smooth as sidewalk.
