The mountain peak of Chimborazo is the farthest from the center of the earth. Chimborazo is 2.1 kilometers farther from the Earth's center compared to Everest.
Chimborazo in Ecuador is the farthest point from the center of the earth
The point in the orbit of the moon or of an artificial satellite that is most distant from the center of the earth is called the 'apogee'.
Assuming that the Earth's atmosphere is a perfect sphere, then the atmosphere's center of mass will be at the point equidistant between Earth's poles (i.e. the center of the Earth!).
The center of the Earth is known as the core. the core.....worship me! the core.....worship me!

Chimborazo in Ecuador is the farthest point from the center of the earth
Mount Chimborazo, which is 6,384 kilometres above Earth's center, 2 meters more than Mount Everest.
The highest point on the earth is Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador in the Andes mountain chain.
The summit of mount Chimborazo Ecaudor
I think Chimborazo, at 6,268 meters, is the highest mountain in Ecuador, unless there is one that drops into the ocean, and measured from its ocean floor base is technically 'taller'. Chimborazo is also the point furthest from the center of the Earth (since the Earth is wider at the equator). So by that measure, the peak of Chimborazo is the 'highest' point on the planet. Mt Everest is the highest above sea level, Mauna Lea is the 'tallest' (from base in the ocean floor).
If you measure from sea level, Mt. Everest is highest. If you measure from the center of the earth, Mt. Chimborazo is highest.
If you measure from sea level, Mt. Everest is highest. If you measure from the center of the earth, Mt. Chimborazo is highest.
Mount Everest is the worlds tallest mountain at 29,000 feet. But, the world's highest elevation is the top of Mount Chimborazo. This mountain is on a bulge of the earth, so it is taller than Everest.
If you measure from sea level, Mt. Everest is highest. If you measure from the center of the earth, Mt. Chimborazo is highest.
For absolute height above sea level, Mount Everest is the highest mountain. As measured from a land base, it would be Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. As measured from the center of the Earth, the Andean mountain Chimborazo has the highest point. The overall highest mountain on Earth is Mauna Kea in Hawaii which has its base beneath the Pacific Ocean. This volcano rises to 10203 meters from the sea floor, whereas Mount Everest is the highest mountain on land at 8848 meters.
Everest. Nepal. :) Everest is the tallest from sea level. Measured from sea level to the peak - 8516 Meters - Mt Everest Measured from the base of the mountain - Mauna Kea in Hawaii at 10,200 Meters Measured from the center of the Earth - Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador. Largest in size (Mass) - Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania Africa. (from another's good answer)
