If you haven't gotten it figured out, yet...It's because of a clog under the hood. (It took me a couple of years to find the answer.)
The dumbest design yet, IMO.
If you'll raise your hood, you'll see a plastic shield/tray the full width of the car, just in front of the windshield. You'll also see there are snaps that hold the lid down on it. CAREFULLY, unsnap those & raise the lid. There, you'll probably find leaves, acorns, etc. that have the drains clogged....follow the tray to both sides of the car, and take out ALL of the debris. Inside that tray are drain holes, at each end of it... Make sure those are clear. Once you know what to look for, you can EASILY see if the drain holes are clogged, w/o having to take the cover off.
