Why is my 99 Chevy Monte Carlo service engine soon light on but all fluids seem fine?

The service engine soon light has little or nothing to do with fluid levels. It means there is a sensor indicating the engine is not running correctly. Take it down to AutoZone and they can read the codes for free. They'll at least be able to tell you what codes are in the computer and what they mean.
