Boiling water will produce steam (water vapour). Eventually, if boiled long enough, all the water will have evaporated, with the risk of the bottom of the pan or kettle melting.
water changes to steam by the process called evaporation
That would be, "Water vapor" or "Steam", but not the "steam" that you see coming from a pan of boiling water - that is not steam, but rather, tiny droplets of liquid water.
hot air. ^^Close. It is actually steam or the gaseous form of H2O (water). As the water is heated it changes from a liquid to a gas. Since the heat is coming from the bottom (in a pot) and the top of the water is cooler, the gas forms bubbles.
There are basically two types of boilers one is the conventional boilers with a drum or shell in which water (obviously well treated water) is heated and as it is heated it produce stem. The steam occupy the top space and the bottom part is filled with water hot and pressurised. When the process requirements whether it is for steam turbine or for chemical process we need dry steam. If the water level is too high and or if the boiling velocity is too high the water droplets instead of leaving the boiler drum as steam some water droplets leave with the steam. This is no good for the process as we need steam but we are getting water. This water entering the system is called entrainment. If the boiler is highly rated i.e. we are heating too much and heating very hard then the top of the water face on the drum through which the steam leaves takes water drops as well. This is called entrainment. Regards Stephen Pathmarajah
Usually a leaking hose into or out of the water pump (depending on its location), or the water pump gasket.
HydroElectric generators (think of Hoover Dam) , water wheel , steam engines by heating the water ,
the steam may be water evaporating from leak when engine is hot.if water pump is leaking it needs replacing the steam may also be leaking from bad installation of thermostat easiest way to see if pump is working is to remove radiator cap when engine is at running temp. look in radiator and see if coolant is moving when you rev the engine there is very little visable movement at idle. but bottom line if you see water from pump, replace the pump
is coolant leaking from engine?or is it leaking from water pump and running down engine and appears to leak from engine
if it is not making any noise,or leaking from bottom of pump. Releif hole is on bottom of pump,if leaking replace pump.
Normally it means you have moisture in the motor. Head gasket or intake gasket leaking. Most of the time I've seen the head gasket leaking to be the reason. Check your oil level frequently. If the level starts to rise, then you probably have a head gasket leaking. The problem is oil does not steam. The steam is coming from a water based substance in your motor. Example..... Water, antifreeze, etc.
the hole it is leaking from is their as a warning your water pump is going out . if you don't change it soon it will be a big leak
There is a weep hole at the bottom just under the pulley where there will be a stain of coolant if it is leaking. Or unhook the belt and check the play of the shaft of the water pump.
This leak indicates a seal failure and requires replacement of the water pump .
overheating/underheating water leaking from bottom of car behind fan. squealing
your heater core is bad you may also experience steam in the windshield
It could be a bad water pump if it's leaking out the weep hole at the bottom of the water pump.
