The CEL (Check Engine Light) is on so there will be code(s) set in the ECM (Engine Control Module). Have your local auto parts store plug in a scanner into the DLC (Diagnostic Link Connector) to read the codes. The codes may be the result of the problem but will help lead you to the problem. The auto parts store will perform this service for free.
