There is a numerous number of reasons. It can be the fuel filter, can be the air filter, can be the knock sensor, might be faulty spark plug wires. You have to check all of it.
If you have a diagnostics tool it can simply your life a lot because some of them are capable to show voltage in different parts of the car and also other parameters which can give a hint about the situation.
