Check your fuses
The radio and the cigarette lighter are on the same fuse, I would check the fuse first.
wire cutters professional guitarists will use, a cigarette lighter if you smoke is always handy
I had the same problem and it was found that the built in radio/CD player was the problem, I had to replace the radio and cigarette lighter. All is well now, check out your radio as fuses kept blowing till i changed the radio.
passenger side front, right next to cigarette lighter. its called "AUX"
Is cigarette lighter not working also? If so then probably a fuse blown by shorting the cigarette lighter socket. Fuse is located under glove box passenger side front (RHD version). It's not easy to get to and will probably be the last one you try.
reach behind the dash and pull the plastic 3 pronged thing of the back or it .. its very hard to get off but it just pops right off.. also then when that is off the round cylinder surroundin the back of the cig. lighter is a nut.. unscrew it off and then u can take the dash out to put the head unit in
Smoking is bad for your health. Convert the outlet to adapt it to a CD or MP3 player. These will not kill you.
My '97 EX 2-door coupe does not. It has a power outlet below the radio, just above the cassette player.
The easiest way to install a CD player in your TC is to purchase a portable unit, that is self contained. This unit is all inclusive, with the speakers included. Just put th unit into the front seat, plug the power cord into the cigarette lighter, place the CD you want to hear into the unit, and there you are..takes less than 3 minutes, and is the easiest, and fastest way!
Hey, supposedly the fuse that's burning out on you is also connected to the ignition and the cigarette lighter. It might be that whatever Mp3 player or ipod or something of the sort that you charge on your cigarette lighter is causing the problem.
CD player and Cassette player are out of fashion now. The new cars have MP3 players and iPod. Suggest get a basic MP3 player and a transmitter and plug it in the cigarette lighter socket to play all your music.
