I used to buy Breakstone cottage cheese 4% for years. Now it is like soup! I guess somehow they are saving money in manufacturing. I have stopped buying it all together now. When they bring back the quality of their product, I will buy it again...but until now...crickets!
Answer 1
WikiAnswers does not produce cottage cheese. If you have a problem with a particular brand, then take it up with whatever dairy or producer.

Runny cottage cheese is a problem caused by the techniques or ingredients used in the cheese making process. The watery "stuff" is the whey which is left over from the curdling process, it's fine to eat this if you wish as it is completely harmless.
You can place your cottage cheese in a fine mesh strainer over a bowl to drain and catch the watery liquid, then place the cheese in a container and refrigerate it for a couple of hours, discarding the liquid you drained from it. You could also purchase a cheesecloth and use it to dry the cheese.
It depends on the store that you are buying the half pound of cottage cheese from.....
