It depends on several things:
Country you live in.
Your provider.
Computer Maintenance,have you defraged etc.
Make and age of computer.
I suggest you go to a site called speedtest.net for further help.
relatively slow compared to up to date
Depends on how close you are to the wireless router, the speed of your computer, and your isp. Usually it is faster than wired, unless you have dsl.
It solely depends on your internet speed set by you and your provider. Maybe upgrading your plan would make the speed faster.
Infrared can't be used as a technology for wireless networks because of its slow speed and limited functionality. Infrared is used for wireless communication at very small level.
Depends on how you connect. Is the computer wireless? Is there a cable running from the computer to the back of the modem? If it is wireless and slow then move the computer closer to the modem. If it is wired and slow then it might be your network card is throttling the speed.
Dial up is slow and high speed is fast and usually wireless
I am sick and tired of the slow connection speed of my internet connection. I also would like to go wireless so I can use my laptop in different rooms of my house. What are the good wireless broadband services in my area?

Look at How can you speed up your wireless internet? for the answer
you do one thing deleted internet files for temporay
Yes, but only if you have a wireless modem and a wireless enabled computer. If your computer does not have wireless you could always buy one from somewhere like Argos for about £15. you could also use a USB modem but that is not recommended as t can slow down your Internet speed.
A wireless router "N" has one of the fastest speeds available. It is more costly than the basic wireless router speed of "G". To ensure getting the fastest speed, be sure both the wireless router and wireless card have the same speed. Most laptops with built in wireless cards only have a speed of "G". The network runs at the slowest speed that is being used. An upgraded card may be needed.
