Ozone is polar because of the bonding arrangement. This molecule does not form a triangle in that the stress on the molecular bonds would be too great to keep the structure.

How polar and non polar bonds affect solubility?

Molecules with many polar bonds are soluble in polar solvents. Also, molecules with none or few polar bonds (many non-polar bonds) are soluble in non-polar solvent. e.g Water is a polar solvent so substances with many polar bonds are soluble in it.

If oxygen which has an electronegativity of 3.5 bonds with hydrogen which has an electronegativity of 2.1 the bond between the two atoms will be classified as what polar bond?

nonpolar!

strictly polar

Are CH4 bonds nonpolar?

No,bonds are polar. But molecule is non polar.

How can a molecule nonpolar overall and still contain polar bonds?

Yes, a molecule can be nonpolar when it contains polar covalent bonds, because think about it. if the molecule is linear in structure, and it has two equally polar bonds on either side, then the polarity will essentially cancel out, and it will become nonpolar.

it is nonpolar since C-H bonds are considered a nonpolar bond

nonpolar

Is I3- polar or non-polar?

its T-shaped, So if we take the vectors of the right and left side , both of them will cancel ,eventually you will be left out with the downward vector which wont cancel. So the sum will be >0therefore, Its Polar
