Oxygen stored on an airplane is generally not stored as a liquid, but as a highly pressurized gas. The oxygen system is commonly pressurized to more than 1800 psi, allowing a large amount of gas stored in a very small space. The pressures involved require a very robust container, and so it often looks like a bottle that you would use to contain liquids.

However, emergency ambulance helicopters will often use a system which stores the oxygen as a liquid. This is done to save on weight and space as liquid oxygen containers can hold much more oxygen in a much thinner container. The hazards involved in preparing, storing, and carrying liquid oxygen makes it inappropriate for every-day use in civilian aircraft.

If oxygen is cooled to a temperature of minus 218.79 degrees Celsius, it becomes a bluish liquid. Liquid oxygen has a variety of applications, and it is slightly more dense than liquid water.

What is Active data?

Data that is currently available to be used. The program has it stored where it can readily get at it rather than having it stored out of easy reach.

Why is liquid nitrogen used to fast freeze food instead of liquid oxygen?

There are two reasons. First, liquid nitrogen is colder than liquid oxygen and thus more effective at flash freezing. Second, liquid oxygen is a fire hazard; it creates an atmosphere of pure oxygen that allows substances to burn more easily. Nitrogen does not support combustion.

Is magnesium a liquid?

Magnesium is a solid metal at room temperature; it does have a liquid phase (pretty much everything does, at the right combination of temperature and pressure) but in order to obtain liquid magnesium you would have to heat it in the absence of oxygen (or water) since it will otherwise burn up rather than melt, when it is heated.

Why is couugh syrup thick rather than a liquid?

Each liquid has another composition and consequently another properties.
