As population increases, the resources of the surrounding environment will be consumed.

The greater the population the greater rate of consumption. The Environment will be cleared to make houses... Natural Resources will be extracted, be it for energy production (coal), Exporting (lumber, anything with any value). The rain forest in Brazil is being cleared for Cattle and livestock to graze upon.

More people = more consumption of the environment.

Population growth is a concern because it can lead to increased demand for resources such as food, water, and energy, which can strain the environment and contribute to issues like deforestation, pollution, and climate change. It can also impact social systems such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure, potentially leading to overcrowding and reduced quality of life for individuals living in densely populated areas. Additionally, rapid population growth can outpace economic development, leading to unemployment and inequality issues.

The world's population is getting larger, but the world itself remains the same size, therefore it is getting more crowded. There more people there are, the harder it is going to be to supply everybody with housing, food, water, employment, transportation, and all the other necessities of life. There will be shortages, and in many countries there already are.
