Biologically, both pumpkin and zucchini are fruits. In a culinary sense, the zucchini is usually served as a vegetable course (in salty or savory dishes, salads, or as an accompaniment to meet), while the pumpkin is usually served in deserts (such as pumpkin pie), however pumpkin is also sometimes used as a vegetable in cooking (such as in soup).
