Why is religious freedom important?

Religious Freedom is very important cuz it means that people who can practice their own religion can be protected and they can practice it anyplace that is restricted, like in prison even. Muslim, Christian and Jewish and Buddhism are not the only religions in the wrold. There is only one God for everyone on earth, Whatever we call God in our own race or nationality, we pray to that one God in our own language, in our own way. If all different relgions had their own way then there will have to be hundreds of different Gods.

It is important because without religious freedom people could be persecuted and/or prosecuted for not belonging to an "official" state sanctioned religion. Freedom of religion gives people the opportunity freely to worship -- or not worship at all.
