  • Highway 666 in the United States is also referred to as 'Highway to Hell'; 'Devil's Drag Strip' or 'Satan's Speedway.' It is a lonely stretch of road. State highway officials in all four States were asked to change the name of this highway and the only State to respond was Arizona. Originally this highway was named Route 66 and became Route 666. This Highway is now named Highway 191. However, changing the number of the Highway will not change the paranormal experiences that people from all walks have life have experienced while traveling this highway. 'Satan's Sedan on Highway 666' .. Christians believe this is the mark of the beast. There have been tales (they are called tales because these experiences have not been witnessed) of a black Sedan driven by Satan himself. The Sedan apparently comes out of nowhere and comes dangerously close to another vehicle on the road. There is small claim to this piece of information as few have experienced it and claim there is no such vehicle on highway 666. The 'Skin Walkers' on Highway 666 came from the Native American culture and they believe that humans can transform themselves into animals, but only the Medicine Men can create themselves in the form of an animal. They are said to warn travelers to not continue down the highway and if the traveler does not heed the warning an evil Shaman's magic will cause then to have an accident and take the life of the driver in order to gain the person's soul. The other legend of Route 666 is the 'Hounds of Hell' and many individuals have told the tale of vicious and threatening dogs which can travel as fast as a vehicle and are responsible for several traffic accidents and causing the death of many. There are also tales of individuals having been on the highway and disappeared or, there is time lost from the time they started on the highway to where they ended up. To sum up the mystery of Highway 666 many can doubt any of the above exists unless they experience it, but no one can say for certain that it is not true and there are many things in this world we cannot explain. No one will ever be able to answer 'why is Highway 666 haunted.' Note: One theory by a psychic is that many years ago there was a horrific massacre by whites wiping out a tribe of Indians and the spirits of these Indians are coming back to do as much damage as possible for the terrible wrong done to them.
