The inner fluids of fish are not as salty as the sea water therefore fish have a special gland in their gills that separates the salt from their inner fluids and excretes it back out to the sea. For fish - living in salt water is no big deal.
Land creatures get rid of their excess salt by flushing it out with a bunch of extra water. There is a maximum concentration of salt to water that the kidneys are able to produce they can not make pure salt they have to have excess water to get rid of it. So what do you think would happen if you can get no excess water? What if the only water you could get was already saltier than what you have in your body? A land animal drinking sea water would only get saltier and saltier, get sick and eventually die.
It's dehydrates your skin and dryes it.
Salt water is great for acne. You could cleanse your skin with salt water at the beach or you can make salt water at home. All you need to do is mix a few tablespoons of salt into your bath. (I'd prefer using sea salt.) The salt may sting a bit, but that's normal. When your done, moisturize a bit with lotion so you won't dry your skin. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend you don't try this technique.
Yes Salt can dry out your skin...or at least Salt Water can like the Ocean
No, it is not harmful.
Because seawater has salt in it and salt is hygroscopic and will dehydrate skin.
whats good about salt water is that fish that live in the ocean need salt water to survive
It is not recommended; after drying salt remain on the skin.
Salt water hot tubs are good and luxurious but we cannot use seawater in it for everyday use because salt water contains a number of salts, not just the common salt (Nacl) which can harm our skin and can damage our nervous system if swallowed.
It's because the salt from the water stays on your skin, and the sun drys it out. So if you need to use lotion.
Your skin gets wet and salty
The water inside of the body is saltier than salt water, so wrinkles do not form. Wrinkles form when skin is in water because of the evaporation of water out of the skin after being immersed.
Salt water has salt water in it and is bad for you, fresh water has no salt water in it and is good for you.
good is relative. Salt water is a lot better than water or oil, but is never as good as a metal. Salt water is a good enough to conduct a small current with a battery.
